two thousand six post fifteen

i'm not even going to bother with coming up with a reason for not blogging that much lately. you're all welcome for that. :) last night at small group we spent a fair amount of time discussing the tension that exists in the church today and why that tension happens in the first place. basically what we came up with was that all this tension is caused by the fact that we as a human race always have to complicate everything to the nth degree. when the new testament church was starting it was layed out pretty simply in the Bible by Jesus. ever since that point we have been steadily moving away from those simple/straight forward ideas into the religous mire that the current worldwide church as a whole is in. a great example of this is all the to do that is being made by some Christians/churches about the davinci code movie that is coming out. if for one second we believe that this movie is outside of God's control and won't eventually serve to bring Him glory in some way that we may never understand then we are misunderstanding why the universe was created in the first place(to bring God glory. period.). if you can't already tell this sort of "lets rally the christians around a stupid movie and try to get people to not go" movement bothers me to a degree. focus on the big picture people and trust that God will work out the small stuff that we get our panties all in a bunch about. enough ranting....
