two thousand six post eleven

pretty decent weekend all in all. here are the gory details in all their glory...

friday revisited the age old tradition of getting a whole bunch of dudes in one place with beer, three ps2's wired together, and two poker tables at burgdorfs. i've got to say that it was a pretty good night for me just for the fact that i won two of the three poker touneys i played in and got to drink wiedemann in front of a room full of beer snobs.

saturday kim and i went to cafe istanbul with brian, jenn, and justin for some good old turkish grub. it was actually a really good meal. some topics of conversation were their dogs diahrea issues, using your classroom trash can as a toilet to make a point and all the reasons that evansville and troy are so similar and therefore both white trash towns. very entertaining. for a night cap we went to krogers for some graeter's ice cream and went back to brian's place to hang out for a little bit.

yesterday i played organized basketball for the first time in monthes. held up pretty well, but man am i sore today. running on a tredmill just isn't the same....

two thousand six post ten

so jason and i were doing what we normally do on friday afternoons this past friday. namely sitting in our surrogate hangout bar(until the dubliner reopens of course), the village tavern, having a few guinness and eating stale pretzels. now there's a certain shall we say famous person that also frequents this bar on fridays. by famous i mean he's been on tons of tv shows and most people would recognize him pretty easily. he's none other than daniel von bargen, aka kruger from seinfeld, commandant edwin spangler from malcolm in the middle, etc., etc. here's another listing of his appearences. now why would i mention this to you all at this point after we have been seeing him at said bar on fridays for over a month now? well on this past friday we're sitting there and he's at the end of the bar. for some reason they play law and order from 4:00pm to 5:00pm on fridays. guess who's playing a pretty significant role on this particular episode? yep you guessed it none other than dvb himself. it's kind of surreal sitting in the same room with a person who's watching themselves on a tv. the bartender made light of it and the seven or eight of us in the bar had a good laugh and went about our drinking business. pretty awesome....

two thousand six post nine

had one of the best bar food dinners i've had in sometime at bar louie in newport on saturday night. highly recommend that place. they have tater tots people! yes that's right tater tots!! and they're awesome. hadn't had those puppies since grade school. good times.

kim and i will officially be starting our house hunt with tony tomorrow. here's to hoping we find something we like without too much pain and suffering. i'm not really that worried about it as we start. my brother-in-law is going to handle to financing for us, so i'm sure we're going to get a pretty sweet deal on that end. it really comes down to finding something we like, where we like it and in our price range. no big deal right.....
