for those of you that are unaware, i am a huge boston red sox fan. i tell you that, so i can tell you this. they(the sox) beat the dog piss out of the yankees this weekend. swept them 3-0. in the long run it probably really doesn't mean that much. it's only three wins out of a 162 game season, but damn it was fun and rewarding to watch. i'll hand it to the yankees though, they managed to keep the smug looks on their faces even in defeat. the kid they threw out there last night gave up home runs to four straight sox hitters in a row, on 10 pitches no less. now that's dedication to sucking as a pitcher right there. here's to the yanks losing the rest of their games this season. sorry burgdorf, you do know it's never too late to switch over and root for the good guys...

what the fark is going on with the weather in this town for crying out loud? this is absolutely ridiculous. who and where do i call to complain? it's insane.

now that i've got that out of my system, kim and i had a really cool easter weekend. saturday we, along with kim and jason, went down to lexington for the spring meet at keeneland. other than the fact that the weather sucked, we had a really good time. i'm no horse handicapper, but i did pick one winner outright. and i'm pretty sure that kim is now addicted to mint julips. she says she was just drinking them to stay warm, but i'm skeptical. i'm pretty sure she's a closet alcoholic now.

sunday we went up to kim's parents place for dinner. i love a free meal(beer included) and good company and lucky for me they had both. her sister brought over their new puppy and now kim is convinced that we need one in order for our lives to be complete. we'll see....

cincinnati's national holiday was this past monday and lucky for me i got to be a part of it. sparky was lucky enough to score come sweet tickets in the first row of the third level and we got to see the reds pound the cubs on opening day. it's awesome how people will go crazy for this team one day a year and not give a rats ass the other 161 game. granted, the reds will probably win about 70 more this season, but it was still a good time. we went to gameday cafe before and after the game for a few beers and to look at all the forty year old women trying to look twenty. it was quite humorous, kind of like a frat party full of old people.

the only thing that wasn't a good time was the fact that i almost melted my face off due to sunburn. note to self, bring sunblock next time you sit in direct sunlight for four hours at a time.

the basement waterproofing guys finally got around to showing up this morning, so that little project is underway. after that's finished, all kim and i have to do is get the basement recarpeted, buy furniture for down there, hire a landscaping company to rehab the backyard, and call scott's to come out and take care of our grass that looks like ass. i love owning a home...
