Good Times

This past weekend was one of the best weekends I have had in a while. This is gonna be a pretty long post, so pull up a chair and grab a bag of crack for some energy...

Friday
Went to the Dubliner per the usual happy hour fun. Got my 3 Guinness from Paul, so now I am going to have to find something else to rag on him for. After wearing out our welcome at the bar, went to Jason's to try and put a dent in the 80 beers left over from Tom's bachelor party. This precipitated having to burn things which led to burning a Christmas tree which is a totally great way to celebrate the end of the Christmas season a few months late. Also helped his dog find a new appreciation for Wiedemann. Good times...

Saturday
Taste of Cincinnati in the afternoon along with seeing the Mobile Skate Park downtown. I haven't done that much walking since 'Nam. Don't get me wrong, I love Cincinnati and I love food, but what they charge and what they give you down there just doesn't add up for having to walk 80 miles around downtown. Alas I digress. After being relieved of a lot of money for a little food, ended the night at Wilkey's for a cookout. He bought a keg of Sam Adams, which wouldn't be my first choice, but who am I to turn down free food/beer and help a friend in need of cashing a keg. Good times....

Sunday
Went to church and then Kim had a wedding shower for her sister, so you know what that means. That's right, 3 hours of uninterrupted Playstation time. It was like college all over again. No responsibilities and endless amounts of time to waste. After overheating the PS2, went downtown to meet my friends Megan and Sparky. They were in town from California for the weekend and her sisters graduation. I've known Spark since I was a kid and it's always good to see him. We always seem to find some sort of trouble when we're together. Ate dinner at the Barrel House, hung out at Uno's bar until they closed and then at the hotel bar until they closed. I think I broke my liver this weekend. Good times....

Monday
Did nothing until Tony's cookout. Went over to his crib and hung out and ate. Got to talk to Paul and Sonya. Plus Sonya and I kicked Paul and Aaron's behinds at cornhole. Score. And now the weekend is complete because I have my new angle to use to poke fun at Paul with. He got beat by his wife at cornhole. Good times had by all....

Friday

Man I am so glad it's Friday. I need this long weekend pretty bad. Now all I have to do is make it through the next 6 hours and 28 minutes to get to the Dubliner. I can already taste the Guinness.

Study was pretty laid back last night. Almost too laid back. People were pretty apathetic and I wasn't in the mood to carry the weight of giving a sermon. We have a lot of teachers in our group and I think they are all just beat down from the school year. The group was just worn out mentally and that's alright. Kurt did manage to use the word "fuck" during the study which is always cool. I love that guy, he's so real. OOOHHH, and Kim made a sex joke during it too. Be sure to ask her about it, she was pretty embarrassed.

Yada, yada, yada....

Last night was the first night in a while where Kim and I just hung out at home. It was pretty nice. She graded papers(teachers are the most over-worked, under-paid people on the planet) and I did nothing. As punishment for doing nothing, she made me watch the last 15 minutes of American Idol. I HATE THAT SHOW. It just shows how dumb we have become as a society. All the sheeple(a new word I've invented to describe idiots by combining the words sheep and people) just turn out in droves to watch a glorified karaoke competition. Holy crap, don't get me started on this show.

This weekend is the first weekend in a while that I have really looked forward to. It's gonna be hella fun to quote modern day poet Eric Cartman. Just going to hang out with some really cool people and do some really cool stuff. Plus Paul owes me 3 frosty Guinness at happy hour this week. I love free beer that I got by paying a bar tab last week. :) Only two more frickin days to go. Can't get here soon enough.

I guess I had better plan my study for tonight since 15 people are gonna show up and expect something in about 12 hours. I can't tell if it's become so monotonous preparing it that I am just mentally tired or if I'm just in a groove with it. Weird. I've been doing it so long that it has become a routine. I hate that. Working it out...

Old Friend

Had dinner and a few beers with an old friend last night. It's always good to sit down and talk about life for a while when both of you are interested in what the other has to say. I've found that when you get married, you really find out who your good friends are because you have less time to spend with people who aren't your wife. It takes planned effort. I can't wait for the long weekend. I NEED it bad....

Boring Day

Didn't really do anything of note yesterday at all. Kim had ladies night at our place, so I got kicked of my own crib for a few hours. Changed the oil in her car, and ran some other errands. Gonna have dinner with an old friend tonight. I always enjoy our conversations....
