exxxxaivier beat UC last night. again. this is getting old. the dubliner is closed. the world, my friends, is coming to an end. i'm officially calling it, the sky is falling.

on a better note, we picked a new bar for happy hour on fridays. it's called the village tavern. its in montgomery and it'll have to do til march 1 when the dubliner re-opens. agreed that their webpage is pretty horrible, i have no idea whats up with those pics on the front page, but the beer is cheap and it's not crowded. i'm really going to miss the dubliner in its original state. we were up there wednesday night and it was a weird feeling. not matter how good it is when they reopen that place, it'll never be the same...

two thousand six post five

spent the long weekend in salt lake city at my friend jeff's house with justin, brian, scott and tony. we watched football, played playstation, drank home brew and knob creek, played poker, smoked pipes, banditos and cigars, sampled some micro-brewed beer and jager at rooster's(twice) and i slept while they skied. good times. it was everything you'd expect from a weekend with no females around.

more bible study drama, but this time i started it so it's not as bad. ;o the thing that pisses me off in a group is when other people are goofing around when someone is talking/sharing their ideas and opinions to the group. if somebody opens their mouth to share their thoughts, it's my belief that everyone in the room should give them their undivided attention. i let a few people in the group know that thursday night in a pretty direct way and they certainly weren't happy about it. i understand that they're embarrassed about being called out in front of the group and i apologized for the tone that was used, in front of the whole group, but they evidently weren't satisfied with that and each emailed me to let me know about it. i guess i'm just not sorry that i asked them to be respectful of other people. i haven't decided if i'm going to respond to their emails or not. definitely not for a few days because i'm still irritated with the entire situation and how things happened. another nail in the proverbial coffin i suppose.

on a big, big downer note, the dubliner is CLOSING. i'm pretty sure my heart stopped when i found out yesterday. it's going to re-open in march under new management, but for me it'll never be the same. i think we're going to head over there this wed. night(the last night it's open), to have a few beers in it's memory. bad times.

two thousand six post four

it was an interesting weekend to say the least. did the normal hangout stuff, i.e. played xbox 360 with jason, paul and brian, went to outback for dinner, watched the bengals take it in the proverbial ass when palmer went down, ect.

the most interesting thing was the yelling match i got into with our neighbor about the volume of his tv when i wanna go to bed. this has been a recurring thing since the time they moved in and sunday night it came to a head with me pounding on the wall and him coming to our door to tell me he didn't like that. it actually turned out pretty well b/c i went to apologize and we agreed to compromise about it. the weird thing is that i think God want that to happen b/c it helped me have a big realization about how angry i've allowed little things to make me. i didn't sleep a wink that night and spent most of the time laying in bed contemplating my anger and how unrighteous it was and has been. to get some questions answered i went to the best place i could think of, the Bible. i've spent a lot of time reading eph. 4:20-28 and psalms 4 and thinking about the meaning of those passages and how they relate to my life. i feel good about being able to recognize an error in my ways and begin to work on getting a handle on it. food for thought....

two thousand six post three

paypal finally came correct and gave me back the $400 bucks someone hijacked from my account last week. sounds like found money to me that kim need not know about. :) it really wasn't that painful of a process to get it back other than the dude from there customer service trying to dumb down the technical part of how he thought the money was taken. i guess that's why your doing a job that will be farmed out to india next year bill gates. just get my money back for me and save me and the rest of the world the oxygen if you don't mind. end rant.

awesome Bible study last night over the end of James 4 and the beginning of James 5. read it and give it some thought. it was pretty convicting for me and i know i need that. it talks about the way we are all boasting that we know more than God when we make decisions and do things that don't involve going to Him first.

going to the dubliner for happy hour today. much fun. you should come.

i think i'm getting sick. again. dammit. argh...

two thousand six post two

so i dropped the seinfeld quotes idea from the titles of my posts mostly because i got tired of looking for them everytime i wanted to update. yeah, i'm lazy like that. save the fact that i ran about 2 miles last night and am going to try with a vengeance to get back to my routine of running at least 6-8 miles a week. my metabolism seems to have slowed a bit since the good old days of 22.

kim and i are going to start looking for more permanent housing this week. a daunting task that scares me a little bit because i know almost nothing about finding a house. it seems like there are a million different variables that go into finding what we want. i think she's more freaked out about it than i am, but i'm trusting that things will work out how God wants them to work out. they always do. hopefully it won't be too much of a pain in the arse to go through the process.

heading out to salt lake city next weekend to see jeff. should be fun...

two thousand six post one

so i haven't updated this thing in about an internet eon so here goes....

spent time at my parents, kim's parents, kim's grandma's, and my grandparents over the holiday spread over 4 cities and about 600 miles. got my 30 gig ipod from kim along with a new electric shaver that's self cleaning. gave kim her new digital camera for christmas. spent a good amount of time at the dubliner with jason, paul, lodwick and brian. went to a new year's eve party at burgdorfs pad. ate new year's eve dinner at trio with kim's friends from college. won $100 bucks playing poker over the last 5 days. ate dinner at the cheesecake factory with my parents and sister for my moms birthday. watched michigan get robbed by some second rate good old boy officials from the sun belt conference in the alamo bowl. had my first taste of some 18 year old jameson scotch which deserves a blog of it's own.

also my freind justin started up a little ditty of his own. give him some clicking love over there...
