for the first time ever in the history of the bible study i've been leading for almost 5 years now, nobody showed up last night. in fairness two people did show up almost 30 minutes late, but kim and i had already left. i'm not really quite sure what to make of it. is this a sign that things are coming to an end for the group? obviously when out of 10-15 people nobody shows it's got to mean something. it may not be a priority for folks anymore and i think i'm alright with that. i'll admit too though that i was a little bummed as well. people are busy during the summer and i get that, but zero. wow. maybe it's time to put a slug in this old dog and move along to the next thing.
i'll have plenty of time to evaluate it though while kim and i are in traverse city for the next 9 days on vacation. her grandma has a cottage on a lake up there, so we stay for free. it's such a peaceful, out of the way place. it's gonna be wicked relaxing. good times....
