on wednesday brian, tony, kim and i got to see the sneak preview of one of the greatest movies ever made about ice skating. that's right, we saw blades of glory courtesy of some free passes i scored from montgomery inn. i've got to say that overall this was a really funny movie. will ferrell is absolutely hilarious. not to spoil anything for everyone, but two of the funniest lines were:

Q: "what do you have that all the other figure skating pairs don't?"
W.F.: "twin dongs"

and

W.F.: "it got really weird when her assistant came in, naked, with a bottle of canola oil and a monkey trained to run a video camera."

even kim laughed at both of those and throughout the entire movie. it wasn't over the top crude, but straddled the line a couple of times. also, job(will arnett) from arrested development is in it and he is a riot. i recommend seeing it with the expectation of having a lot of laughs, but not expecting the plot lines of a spielberg movie.

played golf last sunday with ian, hb, and their friend from work. we played blue ash and i shot 97. yuck. first time out this year though. it'll get better. or it won't....

get this, this past monday was kim and i's second anniversary. i know what you're thinking, how have i tricked her into two years of marriage save the fact that i even got her to marry me in the first place? the answer my friends is that there is no explanation for this. it defies all logic and reason. the only thing that even remotely begins to shed light on it is that movie beauty and the beast, although that over sized biped walking dog/beast/dude is way better looking, dresses nicer and is more charming than i am. here's to hoping that she doesn't come to her senses in the next year, or ever for that matter.

we had a really nice dinner at the melting pot(which i highly, highly recommend) followed by a hot passionate night of laying on the couch because we had both eaten entirely too much food. i even remembered to buy her some flowers and a card this time. good times....

this weekend was the national holiday for drinkers everywhere. that's right kids it was st. patricks day. jason and i got to the dunliner about 7am and left about 8pm. it was a long day, but we had an excellent time. we ate traditional irish breakfast with a guinness to drink of course. that guinness was followed by a few other guinness along with burger king for lunch. we stuck to the beer an hour law because the day was a marathon and not a sprint. i'm pretty sure this was the first time i've spent 13 hours straight in a bar.

the highlight of the day was the fact that nick lachey did NOT show up this year. that was a huge improvement over last year right there. HUGE.

we had several visitors throughout the day. not to name names but the list consisted of rodney, patrick, jon, kurt, sparky, megan, justin, jenn, kim, kim, glen, katie and a few others that i'm forgetting. it was a ridiculously good time. st. patty's day is one of my favorite days of the entire year by far. i'm already looking forward to next year. it's a wednesday for all you plan aheaders.

picked up a new toy the other day at the verizon store. this little piece of electronic wonder is pretty slick. it does tons of crap that i will never utilize ever, but hey it looks cool. it has a camera, video camera, mp3 player and several other uses that i've yet to discover. i'm pretty sure that if i needed it to, it would administer cpr to save my life. maybe someday i'll figure it all out, but until then i'll just stick to using it to make calls and text/email....

her water broke...

...and by her i mean my basement and not my wife thank God(i'm still a kid and having a kid as a kid would be messy). yup, it's true with all the melting snow and rain we've had over the past few weeks, the walls had all the moisture they could hold. it finally broke on through and starting soaking the finished and unfinished parts of our basement. i had to tear out the carpet already and bought a dehumidifier to keep down there. the major expense though is going to be the waterproofing we are going to do. the dudes will probably come out next week and take three days to dig up the entire interior perimeter of the basement to install weeping tile, drill out the footers and put in a sump pump. kim and i decided that we wanted to keep the finished room down there, so having all that done wasn't really a choice. it's going to cost us a few bucks, but in the long run i think it's the best thing to do. hopefully....
